Agamemnon, played by Amar William of Wheaton is
convinced by his brother Menelaus (Jamin Gahm
of Freeport) to offer the life of his daughter
Iphigenia (La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge of Lockport)
to please the gods and ensure the victory of the
Greek armies waiting to sail to Troy. Agamemnon's
spirited wife, Clytemnestra (Eleise Rogacki of
Rockdale), soon learns of the brothers' plan and
enlists the help of Achilles (Joe Zordan of Chicago)
to prevent the sacrifice. Their struggle will
determine the outcome of the Trojan War and the
fate of the Greeks.
In the best tradition of Greek plays, a chorus
of ethereal women provides the conscience of the
story, and are played by Stacy Hogan of Plainfield,
Sabrina Marie Wadhams of Burbank; Malinda Jacobson
of Calumet City, Rachel Ven Huizen of Stockton
and Sarah O'Connor of Worth.
'Iphigenia' is directed by Daina Giesler; also
responsible for last year's critically acclaimed
productions of "Lady Windemere's Fan"
and "Dancing at Lughnasa" at USF. The
production is sponsored by the university's Fine
Arts Department.
