USF Student Business Association named top organization
The
Student Business Association at the University
of St. Francis was awarded the Outstanding Organization
of the Year Award for 2003.
The
award was made by the Student Government Association.
The
club was honored for its accomplishments, including
a club fair; field trips to the Chicago Stock
Market and Chicago Federal Reserve Bank; providing
a fun day for Big Bothers/Sisters program; and
conducting two fund-raisers for a needy family.
The club also sponsored an etiquette dinner, social
skills workshop and a "Dress for Success"
workshop with Carson Pirie Scott.
Club
officers are Nina Lennon, Allison Tuider, Patti
Angeles and Sokrates Oey of Joliet; Michelle DeVenuto
of Manhattan; Mark Abramite of Oak Forest; and
Leslie Peaslee of Shabbona, Ill. Student Business
Association faculty advisors are William Dow and
Frank Wyrostek.
The University of St. Francis serves more than 4,300 students nationwide, including 1,800 at its main campus in Joliet.
