USF’s Schola Cantorum celebrates Christmas with Silent Night, Holy Night
The University of St. Francis Schola Cantorum and Chamber Singers will present its 14th annual Christmas concert, Silent Night, Holy Night, on Dec. 8-9. The concert features a variety of works for Advent and Christmas, including music by Palestrina, Dietrich Buxtehude, J. S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn and carols in several languages.
Schola Cantorum will perform at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 in the Moser Performing Arts Center auditorium. The Thursday, Dec. 8 performance is a "sneak preview" and admission is free. Admission to the Friday, Dec. 9 concert is $12 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Patrick Brannon, USF professor of music, is the director of the choir and will be accompanied by Beverly Holt and Jane Siron on piano and organ.
