USF to celebrate earth day with a master gardener

Senior citizens are invited to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 with a master gardener. The program is part of the Senior Saturdays series offered by the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

Senior Saturdays is a Learning Throughout Life program sponsored by the University of St. Francis library. The library is open to senior citizens during Saturdays throughout the year. Senior citizens are allowed borrowing privileges and use of the library’s computers.

The Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 22 will feature master gardener Dolores "Dolly" Foster, former president of the Hammond Garden Club in Indiana and an accredited horticulturalist and adjunct horticulture instructor at Joliet Junior College. The program is at 9 a.m. in the library.

The University of St. Francis is at 500 Wilcox St. in Joliet. The university serves some 4,100 students nationwide.
