USF’s radio station 88.7 The Edge offers special programming

WCSF 88.7, the student radio station at the University of St. Francis, has a great new line-up of specialty shows along with special events, contests, and sports coverage this spring.

The Edge will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, March 15 -17 with 60 hours of Irish and Celtic music. Then tune in for the celebration of Cinco de Mayo, May 3 -5 for continuous music and information about Mexican culture. The Edge will celebrate the Fourth of July by playing 60 hours of continuous Independence Day music, July 3 -5.

The "A.M. Buzz" is Joliet’s newest morning show. Tune in for news, weather and sports weekday mornings from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Students Nick Murawski of Lockport, Annie Udell of Naperville and Pat Hester of Joliet are hosts.

Every Sunday, "Track Talk" is hosted by two "music nerds" who play the music they love, and then comment. The "Punk Rock Show" on Mondays includes two hours of commercial-free punk rock music. Tuesdays, the "Woodwork" highlights local bands.

The Edge road crew will be at Glory Days Bar and Grill every Wednesday. Tune in to 88.7 for "The Edge on Tap," featuring favorite alternative music, commercial free with a twist of classic rock. "Digital Beats" showcases the latest and greatest in electronic dance music on Thursdays. Retro Heaven every Friday plays favorite tunes from the 80s and early 90s.
All specialty shows air from 10 p.m. to midnight.

Live broadcasts of USF baseball games and playoff games will be aired Mar. 22 through Apr. 26.
