Flamenco guitar clinic & concert presented at USF
Mehran will present a Flamenco guitar clinic and concert on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
The clinic will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Moser Performing Arts Center, room 121. The concert will be in the university’s Moser Performing Arts Center auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. For reservations and information, call Jeff Jaskowiak at (815) 723-9309.
Mehran is a Flamenco guitarist who studied extensively in Spain with great maestros of Flamenco guitar including Amir Haddad (Radio Tarifa), Antonio El Muneco, Juan De Madrid and Rafael Mendiola. He has appeared as a soloist and accompanist at the Chicago Cultural Center with Northeastern University Ensemble Espanol Dance Company.
In the past few years Mehran has been studying the Cante accompaniment in Spain with Manolo Segura (singer in the movie The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca). Other company accompaniments include performances with the "Los Preferidos" Dance Company.
