University of St. Francis gets federal grant to open health and wellness center
The University of St. Francis will announce a grant (the largest federal grant in the institution's history) that will be used to fund a Health and Wellness Center for underserved populations such as school children from low income families, senior citizens and victims of domestic violence.

The Health and Wellness Center will be run by the university’s College of Nursing and Allied Health and has the potential to serve 2,550 people annually, making a difference in the well-being and everyday quality of life.

The Health and Wellness Center is a collaboration of many area service organizations that will be represented at the press conference: Groundwork Domestic Violence Shelter, Housing Authority of Joliet, Joliet Elementary School District 86, Lamb’s Fold Women’s Center, Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center Senior Service Center of Will County, Will County Health Department/Will County Community Health Center and Will-Grundy Medical Clinic.
