USF invites community to health fair
Nursing students and faculty from the University of St. Francis will conduct a community health fair on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will be at the Joliet Park District Multipurpose Building gym, 3000 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet and include free health screenings and information on a variety of topics. No registration is required.
Students and faculty from the university’s College of Nursing and Allied Health will conduct the fair, which will include tests and information. Blood pressure, blood sugar checks, cholesterol checks, nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation and fat analysis are some of the areas that will be addressed. Breast screenings by nurse practitioners will also be offered.
The University of St. Francis offers several areas of study in the health field, including nursing, radiation therapy, radiography, medical technology and nuclear medicine technology. USF also has graduate programs in nursing and physician assistant studies.
