University of St. Francis invites community to health fair

Nursing students at the University of St. Francis will conduct a community health fair on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will include free health screenings and information on a variety of topics.

Students and faculty from the university’s College of Nursing and Allied Health will conduct the fair, which will include tests and information. Blood pressure, blood sugar checks, cholesterol checks, nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation and fat analysis are some of the areas that will be addressed.

More than 200 people attend the health fair offered by the nursing students and faculty. The health fair will be at the university’s main campus at 500 Wilcox St. in Joliet. The health fair will be in the university’ Recreation Center. No registration is required.

The University of St. Francis offers several areas of study in the health field, including nursing, radiation therapy, radiography, medical technology and nuclear medicine technology. USF also has graduate programs in nursing and physician assistant studies.
