USF football is now on the Internet

Play-by-play audio broadcasts of University of St. Francis football are now available over the Internet. This Saturday, USF sports fans from anywhere will be able, for the first time, to hear a Fighting Saints game by accessing the university’s web site.

Streaming technology along with software from Macromedia, Inc will allow anyone with a web browser and computer speakers, to be able to hear the games live by going to the USF web site at www.stfrancis.edu and clicking on the link: USF Football – LISTEN LIVE!! , according to Mike Planeta, director of university web services.

The broadcast will begin 15 minutes before kickoff with the pre-game show, and continue through the game and post-game show.

The first game to be audio streamed is this Saturday Sept.13 at 5:45 p.m. USF’s Fighting Saints will play St. Joseph College of Indiana. All future home and away games will be broadcast.

USF will celebrate its homecoming on Sept. 20 with the Fighting Saints playing Urbana (OH) at 6 p.m.; The Sept. 27 game against Walsh (OH) is at 10 a.m.; Oct. 4 against Saint Xavier University is at 1 p.m.; the Oct. 11 game against St. Ambrose (IA) is at 1 p.m.; the Oct. 18 against William Penn (IA) is at 1 p.m.; the Oct. 25 game against Trinity International is at 6 p.m.; Nov. 1 against McKendree is at 1:30 p.m.; the Nov. 8 game at Iowa Wesleyan is at 1 p.m.; and the Nov. 15 game against Olivet Nazarene is at 1 p.m. Broadcasts begin 15 minutes before each game.

The University of St. Francis serves more than 4,300 students nationwide, including 1,800 at its Joliet campus. The university offers more than 60 areas of undergraduate study in arts and sciences, business, education, nursing and social work, along with 10 graduate programs in health care, education and business.
