USF Solutions offers marketing workshop for local businesses

Learn effective strategies to market your business at a University of St. Francis marketing workshop on Tuesday, March 7.

Solutions: A Resource Center for Business and Community Partnerships at the University of St. Francis is sponsoring the interactive workshop presented by Lisa Vazzi, CEO and owner of Communication Matters in Mokena. Vazzi has more than 15 years experience in advertising and public relations and more than seven years experience motivating and teaching sales techniques for the small business.

The workshop, How to Sell Yourself, Your Product and Your Business: Effective Marketing Techniques with Little or No Budget, is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the new Solutions Business Center in the historic Motherhouse on USF’s Joliet campus. Workshop topics include Sell Yourself: Make Yourself a More Effective Marketer by learning how to speak like a professional, how to build trust and rapport and how to communicate effectively.

Sell Your Services: What Sets You Apart covers how to listen effectively to save time, money and relationships along with a customer service boot camp on what you need to know and teach your staff.
Sell Your Business: Effective Public Relations Techniques that Cost Little or No Money covers how to maintain a professional image and how to keep your company, department or organization in a positive light. Also addressed is earning confidence and trust.

USF Solutions is an extension arm of the university that works with organizations and small businesses to provide access to university facilities for business meetings, strategic planning, round table discussions and conferencing, to provide workshops and seminars, and to provide access to business and marketing research and cooperative education programs.

Solutions provides low-cost, customized professional services such as professional development seminars, certificate programs and workshops. Training sessions are customized to each organization to ensure their success. Programs are offered at the business site or at the Solutions Business Center.

The Solutions Business Center offers conferencing space for up to 200 persons in the newly renovated historic Motherhouse. The center is available to the public for conference room rental.
