USF’s Senior Saturdays to explore Joliet’s murals
The Story Behind Joliet’s Murals and Sculptures will be discussed at a presentation for Senior (Citizen) Saturdays at the University of St. Francis on March 10.
Artist, teacher and gallery director for Friends of Community Public Art, Terri Lesnak will talk about the unique murals and sculptures located throughout Joliet. Learn how the FCPA creates artwork that brings alive the history of the city, along with its economic, ethnic and racial diversity.
The presentation will be at 10 a.m. in the university’s library. Admission is free. For reservations or information about Senior Saturdays programs, call (815) 740-3447. Parking is available at the nearby Motherhouse at Plainfield Road and Taylor Street.
Senior Saturdays is a Learning Throughout Life program sponsored by the University of St. Francis library. The library is open to senior citizens during Saturdays throughout the year. Senior citizens are allowed borrowing privileges and use of the library’s computers.
