USF Nursing Honor Society inducts students, community leaders
The University of St. Francis Nursing Honor Society recently inducted 37 new members at its second annual induction ceremony. The Nursing Honor Society now consists of 99 members, including undergraduate nursing students, graduate nursing students and community leaders.
"The Nursing Honor Society for our undergraduate and graduate nursing students is essential as the College of Nursing and Allied Health makes its mark as one of the premier nursing schools in the Midwest," said Dr. Maria Connolly, College of Nursing and Allied Health dean.
"It is our hope that graduates of USF’s nursing program will continue on in their path of excellence and become leaders in their professions as the nation faces a nursing shortage," she added.
According to Connolly, ultimately, the Nursing Honor Society plans to become part of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. "Our journey to become part of this chapter is yet another way in which our Franciscan mission is carried out through respect, integrity, compassion and service," she said.
In order to be inducted, undergraduate and graduate applicants must meet rigorous academic standards, including GPA and class rank requirements.
