USF "Schorr"s piano performance

Timothy Schorr, a strong advocate of both solo and collaborative piano literature from all musical periods, will perform at the University of St. Francis at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 in the university’s Moser Performing Arts Center auditorium. Tickets are $8 and $5 for students and senior citizens. For tickets or information, call (815) 740-3404.

His concert will include selections of work from Bach, Schumann and Debussy.

Schorr has performed recitals in New York (Carnegie Hall), St. Louis, Minneapolis, and Cincinnati and has been featured in radio and television broadcasts in Ohio and Minnesota, among others. Last summer he traveled to Austria, where he participated in the International Workshops and performed at the Kunst Universität Graz.

Schorr completed graduate studies as a scholarship student of Frank Weinstock at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he taught in the Preparatory Department for seven years.

The University of St. Francis, at 500 Wilcox St. in Joliet, serves more than 4,300 students nationwide. The university offers more than 60 areas of undergraduate study and 10 graduate programs.
