USF students to share cultural experiences with senior citizens

University of St. Francis students will share their study abroad experiences with senior citizens on Saturday, March 18 in a Senior Saturdays program.

Senior Saturdays is a Learning Throughout Life program sponsored by the University of St. Francis library. The library is open to senior citizens during Saturdays throughout the year. Senior citizens are allowed borrowing privileges and use of the library’s computers.

Students will share their study abroad experiences, including culture shock and what they learned by being immersed in another culture. The program is at 9 a.m. in the university’s library on Taylor Street.

Seniors are also invited to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 with master gardener Dolores "Dolly" Foster, former president of the Hammond Garden Club in Indiana and an accredited horticulturalist and adjunct horticulture instructor at Joliet Junior College. The program is at 9 a.m. in the library.
