Discussion on justice comes to University of St. Francis
"Justice for All: The Church Bridges the Liberal/Conservative Divide" will be presented at the University of St. Francis on Thursday, Feb. 9.

Monsignor Stuart W. Swetland, director of the Newman Center Foundation, vicar for social justice for the Diocese in Peoria and theological advisor to the Catholic Conference of Illinois, will make the presentation.
Swetland was ordained a priest in 1991 for the Diocese of Peoria. He earned an undergraduate degree in physics from the United States Naval Academy, was elected a Rhodes Scholar in 1981, receiving degrees in politics, philosophy and economics from Oxford University, a master’s of divinity from Mt. Saint Mary’s Seminary and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family of the Pontifical Lateran University.
Raised a Lutheran, Swetland became a Catholic while studying at Oxford. His conversion story was recently published in Surprised by Truth 3.
Swetland is a Knight Commander in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He has published reviews and articles on biotechnology and bioethics.
