Council For Social Activism
By-Laws
Purpose: The University of St. Francis Council for Social ctivism (CSA) engages interested students and the community by making them aware of the injustices that exist in the local, national, and global community.
Structure: The CSA is comprised of a Chair, Chair-Elect, Treasurer/Secretary, and general members. All members will be expected to attend all meetings, if a member cannot attend a meeting he or she is expected to contact the Chair, Chair-Elect, or the Faculty Advisor. The CSA shall abide by all regulations and privileges of the Student Government Association (SGA).
Article I- Officers Responsibilities:
Chair:
*Conduct Meetings
*Schedule Meetings
*Represent the CSA at all functions
*Prepare an annual report and organize the election process for new
officers by April 15th.
*Assist in planning, organizing, and executing all functions
Chair-Elect:
*Subsitute for the Chair when the Chair is unavailable to attend
meetings and or functions/activities
*Assist Chair in the election process
*Be present, or delegate someone to be present at all meetings and or
functions/activities
*Assist in planning, organizing, and executing all meetings and or
functions/activities.
*Preside as Chair for the following year.
Treasurer/Secretary:
*Record Minutes at Meetings
*Provide a Monthly Financial Statement to the CSA
*Handle all Advertisements (Tower Talk, USF-Radio, USF-TV, E-Mail,
etc.) for Fund Raisers and Activities
*Assist Chair in the election process
Article II-Elections of Officers and Passage of CSJ Fund-raisers and Activities
* All members of the CSA are voting members. Nominations for all
positions must be made in writing and submitted to the Chair and or
Faculty Advisor by April 8. The election of officers shall be done by a
ballot vote. Election proceedings and of new officers shall be
completed by April 15.
* All activities and fund-raisers will be put to a vote for approval.
This vote will be taken by a show of hands. All new ideas for
fund-raisers and activities will be presented to the CSA as a whole and
an explanation will be needed to justify its benefit.
Article III- Rights and Regulations
* All members are expected to attend each meeting. A schedule
of meetings and topics will be distributed at the beginning of each
semester.
* If an elected member cannot attend a meeting, the member must
contact either the Faculty Advisor, the Chair, or the Chair-Elect.
* At each meeting a role call shall be taken, attendance will be
used to decide who may participate in the annual awards dinner and
other fun activities.
* Any new activities shall be presented to the CSA meeting and
must be explained thoroughly as to how it would benefit the Council.
* All members are encouraged to participate in council
activities.
* Any member has the right to amend the by-laws by submitting a
written statement of the change to the CSA. The Council
Members will then vote on it.
