DNA Fingerprinting
Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) is fundamental
building block of all living matter and is present
in all cells and most viruses.
DNA carries all the information needed for
protein synthesis and replication of cells.
DNA is organized in chromosomes and is
located in the nucleus of each cell.
The technique was developed by English
geneticist Alec Jeffreys in 1987.
