University of St. Francis is host to Traffic Club of Chicago seminar

The Traffic Club of Chicago will present “CSA: What Shippers, Truckers and Brokers need to Know—Now!” seminar at the University of St. Francis (USF) on April 17

The seminar, sponsored by USF’s College of Business and Health Administration, is 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Moser Performing Arts Center.

David LaPorte, president of LaPorte CSA, Inc. will give the opening keynote address. He has 20 years of experience in the trucking industry and has evaluated the safety management practices of hundreds of trucking companies. LaPorte also has broad experience with the legal issues confronting the trucking industry, including catastrophic accident and cargo claims.

Matt Hart, executive director of the Illinois Trucking Association, a non-profit, full-service trade association led by trucking companies, will give the luncheon keynote address. Hart has extensive knowledge of trucking industry legislative and regulatory issues.

A panel session will be moderated by Jeff Clark, managing partner of Eagle Corporate Solutions. Panelists include Don Osterberg, senior vice president of Safety & Training, Schneider National, Inc.; Paul Brocklebank, chief underwriter, Canal Insurance; Gary Palmer, senior director of transportation, True Value; and Dave Durtsche, senior partner, Tranzact.
