USF celebrates 20 years of Spirit of Christmas

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Spirit of Christmas radio program, presented by the University of St. Francis, has drawn listeners throughout the region.

Spirit of Christmas on WCSF 88.7 FM, the student-run radio station at the University of St. Francis, provides the most variety in holiday programs which will run commercial-free, 24 hours a day from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.

Christmas classics, music from the big band era and children’s songs will be featured as well as gospel interpretations, vocal instrumental arrangements and contemporary holiday music. USF’s own Schola Cantorum choir will also be featured. Popular programs include the Cinnamon Bear, the World’s Greatest Choirs, Christmas in Our Town and more.

Look for Spirit of Christmas at the Light Up the Holidays Festival and Parade in downtown Joliet at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.

Listeners can also tune in to the station 24 hours a day, seven days a week via the Internet. To listen live online, go to the Spirit of Christmas www.stfrancis.edu/spirit. Listeners may call in requests at selected times. For information, call the station at 815 740-3214
