USF offers Franciscan Studies

The University of St. Francis (USF) Solutions Resource Center will offer a four-course, online certificate program in Franciscan Studies. Four sessions are offered, with the first beginning Sept. 22.

The program teaches participants about the origins and values of Franciscans, Franciscan spirituality and evangelical life and Franciscan tradition in art and literature.

“The program offered me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge of Francis and Clare and how Franciscan spirituality has influenced every walk of life since then,” said Janine Hicks, a USF administrator who completed the program last year.

Courses are four weeks long with start dates of Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Jan. 5 and Feb. 9. Students can enter and complete the courses anytime within their four-week run.

The cost of the program is $800 or $200 per course. To register, visit www.stfrancis.edu/business-solutions/continuing-education-training or call (815) 740-3600.

This certificate program was initiated in 2007 through a grant from the Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities.

The University of St. Francis serves 3,400 students nationwide, offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in arts and science, business, education, nursing, health care and social work. For information, call (800) 735-7500 or visit www.stfrancis.edu.
