What do I do if I receive the error message "page cannot be displayed"?

A. It could be one of two things: You might have a firewall program installed on your computer, you might have tried to access your course before it was available so you need to clear your cache in the browser settings. To do this follow the directions below:

To Change Cache Settings in Netscape - PC or Mac
1. In your browser window, click on Edit.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Preferences.
3. Click the "+" sign next to Advanced.
4. Highlight Cache.
5. Click on "Clear Disk Cache" and "Clear Memory Cache."
6. Make sure that the "Everytime" radio button is selected and click OK.

To Change Cache Settings in Internet Explorer on a Mac
1. In your browser window, click Edit and choose Preferences.
2. When the Preferences window opens choose Advanced.
3. To clear the cache, click "Empty Now".
4. Make sure the button next to "Always" is chosen, then click OK.

To Change Cache Settings in Internet Explorer 5.0 and greater on a PC
1. Choose Tools and select Internet Options.
2. Under the General Tab in Temporary Internet Files click "Delete Files" and click OK.
3. Click on "Settings" to make sure that "Every visit to the page" is selected and click OK.

My email messages, discussion postings and syllabus won't appear when I click on them. What's wrong?

A. You could have pop-up blocker software installed on your computer. Email and discussion messages are actually pop-up windows so disable the program while you are in your course.
