BUTTONS ON YOUR PHONE

DN KEY - The green line key on your telephone. This is the directory number or the identity of the telephone set. Also called the extension number.   

GOODBYE KEY - This key is used to hang up or disconnect.

HOLD KEY - This key is used to place a call on hold. To take a call off of hold, press the DN key next to the flashing indicator.

MESSAGE KEY - This key is used to automatically dial your voice mail system.

HANDSFREE KEY - The handsfree key allows you to speak on the phone without lifting the handset.

  • To Answer a Call Handsfree
    • Press the HANDSFREE key
  • To Switch from Handset to Handsfree         
    • Press the HANDSFREE key
    • Replace the handset
    • Press the GOODBYE key to end the call
  • To Switch from Handsfree to Handset
    • Lift the handset
    • Replace the handset to end the call
  • To End a Handsfree Call
    • Press the GOODBYE key

MUTE KEY - The mute key allows you to block the microphone on your phone so you can hear the caller without being heard. Press the MUTE key to activate this feature; the red LED beside the key will flash. Press MUTE again to deactivate this feature.

VOLUME CONTROL BAR – The volume control bar is used to adjust the volume of the handset, the headset, the handsfree speaker, or the ringer.

NAVIGATION KEYS – These keys allow you to scroll through menus and lists on the display.

DIALING INSTRUCTIONS

  • To Answer an Incoming Call
    • Lift the handset or press the handsfree key
    • You are connected to the incoming ringing line
  • To Place an Internal Call
    • Lift the handset or press the handsfree key
    • Dial the desired 4-digit extension number
  • To Place an External Call

    1. Lift the handset or press the handsfree key
    2. Dial 9 plus the desired external number

  • Using Last Number Redial

    1. Lift the handset and press the DN key (green key)
    2. The last number you called will be dialed

    OR

    1. Press the DN key twice
    2. The last number you called will be dialed

TRANSFER

1. With a call in progress, press the TRANSFER key (the LED indicator will flash)
2. DIAL the number where the call is to be transferred
3. Press the TRANSFER key to complete the transfer (the LED indicator will go off)

NOTE: If the line is busy, you misdial, or get voicemail, press the goodbye key, then press the line key next to the flashing telephone icon to reconnect to the caller.

TRANSFER AN OUTSIDE CALLER DIRECTLY TO VOICEMAIL

  • Press the TRANSFER key
  • Dial the Express Messaging Access Number,6231
  • Enter the mailbox number where the call is to be transferred
  • Press #
  • Press the TRANSFER key to complete the transfer
  • Hang up

CONFERENCE 6

  • With a call in progress, press the CONFERENCE key
  • DIAL the number of the person you want to add to the conference
  • Press the CONFERENCE key to complete the conference
  • Repeat steps 1 – 3 to add additional parties into the conference

NOTE: If the line is busy, you misdial, or get voicemail, press the goodbye key, then press the line key next to the flashing telephone icon to reconnect the call.

CALL FORWARD

  • To Forward Your Calls
    • Without lifting the handset, press the FORWARD key
    • DIAL the number you want your calls forwarded to (Voicemail-6230)
    • Press the FORWARD key again to activate Call Forward
  • To Cancel Call Forward
    • Press the FORWARD key
  • To Reinstate Call Forward to the Same Number
    • Press the FORWARD key twice

AUTODIAL

  • To Program an Autodial Number

    1. Without lifting the handset, press an available AUTODIAL key
    2. Enter the telephone number you wish to store, including 9 if needed
    3. Press the AUTODIAL key again to save the entry

  • To Place an Autodial Call

1. Lift the handset
2. Press the AUTODIAL key you wish to call

OPTIONS

The OPTIONS key will allow you to customize certain characteristics of your phone. Screen prompts take you step by step through procedures and keep you informed on the status of various features such as:

    • *Language (Do Not Access)
    • Change Feature Key Label (change the name on programmable DN/feature key)
    • Contrast Adjustment (adjust the contrast of the LCD display)
    • Volume Adjustment of the following:
      • Ringer
      • Buzzer
      • Speaker
      • Handset
      • Headset
      • Handsfree
    • Ring Type (select from one of four rings)
    • Call Timer Control (times how long you are on each call)
    • Date/Time Format (select format for your date and time display)
    • Key Click Enable (enables a clicking sound when dial pad digits are depressed)
    • *Display Diagnostics (Do Not Access)

NOTE: You use the NAVIGATION keys to select your choice, press the DONE key to save changes, and the QUIT key to exit.
