As a successful business executive, Stephen Morrissette’s 25-year career includes corporate experience in mergers and acquisitions as well as banking and entrepreneurial projects as an investor and founding CEO of several start-up businesses.
Steve brings all his business experience and expertise to the University of St. Francis (USF) where he has been teaching business since 2000. Even though he has been teaching at USF for more than a decade, his history with the university goes back further. Steve earned two undergraduate degrees from USF, a B.A. in English Literature and a B.S. in Management Information Systems, and recalls his experience.
“USF’s faculty continues to care about the students, and we want them to be happy,” said Steve. “From a career decision to starting a business, USF students reach back to us in a professional way and stay connected like family.”
Steve describes his connection to USF as a family one. In addition to starting the foundation of his education at USF and connecting with his professors, Morrissette also served as on the university’s board of trustees and held the position of interim dean of graduate studies in 1999.
Steve also met his wife Maureen, who graduated from USF with a B.A. in Elementary Education.
Both Steve and Maureen speak fondly of their USF education, and cite the university’s reputation as one of the reasons USF is such a gem in the community.
“USF’s students know how to succeed, and employers in the community know they are getting a well-developed employee when they hire a USF graduate,” said Steve.
Maureen has worked with several teachers who were graduates of USF’s education program in her role as a teacher’s aid, and said those students are well-prepared to teach the community’s students.
“USF has a strong reputation in education, and USF teachers are truly the best,” said Maureen.
