Registrar's Office
MISSION STATEMENT
The University registrar has an important mission in the operation of the University as the only office authorized to issue official transcripts, certify enrollment, verify attendance and record the awarding of degrees. The Registrars Office is the "accounting/ financial office" for the academic enterprise. To this end, the registrar has the responsibility to maintain timely and accurate records of the academic progress and accomplishments of the students at the University of St. Francis while maintaining privacy and security over those records.
As a central administrative office for the University, the Registrars Office is responsible for the scheduling of students into classes, the recording of grades and the reporting of grades. We provide data for internal and external reporting and we assist the colleges and departments within the university with data and services whenever possible. In addition, we provide our alumni with transcripts, certifications and other records as needed.
The Registrars Office places service to students and faculty first among its priorities recognizing these persons as the offices primary constituency. As a primary information resource for students and faculty, this office seeks ways to effectively communicate and to inform students of their rights, responsibilities and procedures. As a service oriented office we strive to provide efficient and immediate access to information.
Dedicated to the mission of this University in serving diverse populations, the Registrars Office strives to be a leader in the use of technology. We constantly monitor and evaluate office practices and procedures recommending change to ensure the most efficient and prompt service to our students and faculty taking courses at our main campus and throughout the country.
We pledge to be an exemplary model within the University for service and the execution of duty. The highest quality of service is sought through the performance of our staff in accordance with the values articulated in our "Commitment to Service" statement.
OUR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE
Students are our number one priority. Although we are committed to serving our faculty and the administration of the University, we believe that by placing the students interests first, we are also serving the Universitys interests! We accept the dual role of student advocate and administrator of University policies and procedures. Quality service to students is the raison detre of each staff member of this office in the spirit of our Franciscan tradition of service to others.
Honesty. We believe that by being truthful in our dealings with others - students, co-workers, faculty, etc. - we earn trust which is essential for any relationship. It is our intention to avoid the misstatement of facts, omissions, or expressions that deliberately confuse others. We believe in taking responsibility for our mistakes and acknowledge them when we are wrong!
As the primary source of information concerning our students, we strive to be accurate in disseminating information. Should there be time that we cannot make information available, please understand that we must also protect the privacy of our students. We strive to anticipate the information needs of others and to the extent practical, shall make information available to those we serve.
"Let us serve the Lord in each other." We believe that this Franciscan motto is a proactive charge obligating us to be compassionate and understanding to all we serve.
Privacy and security. We believe in the confidentiality of information and records in our charge. We believe that information given to us is personal and should be protected from unauthorized access. Moreover, we are responsible for the physical safety of records and
we strive to protect them from foreseeable dangers.
This is our pledge, our commitment of service to you!
