What To Bring
The Essentials: What to Bring
- Bedding – extra long twin sheets, comforter, pillow, mattress pad
- Toiletries – toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. You may want to bring a shower caddy to hold your bathroom supplies as you go to and from the community bathroom.
- Towels, hand towels, washcloths
- Clothes hangers
- Alarm clock
- Telephone
- Fan
- Umbrella
- Laundry supplies – laundry basket, detergent, fabric softener, etc.
- Quarters for laundry
The Maybes: What you May Want to Bring
- Blinds or curtains
- Rug or carpet
- A fridge (maximum of 300 watts or 3.5 cubic feet)
- Room decorations (note that nails, screws and permanent adhesives that could damage the wall are prohibited)
- TV
- Video/DVD/Music player
- Personal computer and printer with a surge protector (computer labs are found in each hall)
- Dry erase/bulletin board
- Coffee pot
- Blender
- Lamps (not halogen)
- Bicycle
The Should-Nots: What Not to Bring
- Pets (only fish living in a small tank – 10 galloons or less – are permitted)
- Candles, incense, fireworks or any other fire-involved materials (smoking is prohibited inside the residence halls and must be done outside, away from the building)
- Microwaves
- Space heaters
- Halogen lamps
- Cooking appliances with exposed heating elements – toasters, grills, hot plates, etc.
- Aerials or antennas
- Nails, screws, permanent adhesives – anything that could damage the walls
- Alcohol containers
Only those students 21 and over who live in Tower Hall may have alcohol in their rooms; see the Student Handbook for more details - Weapons of any kind
- Drugs

- Vending machines on each floor
- Community bathroom on each wing – 3 on each floor, 9 in all
- Game Room with free video games, pool, ping pong, foosball, jukebox on 1st floor
- Free Video/DVD rental at the Marian Front Desk
- Juice Bar in the Abbey (social lounge on 1st floor)
