USF Security Guard receives
Franciscan Charism Award

University of St. Francis security officer Wayne Heldebrandt was recently awarded the Franciscan Charism Award.

Heldebrandt was presented with the Franciscan Charism Award by USF President, Michael Vinciguerra. “The Franciscan Charism Award was created to recognize an employee who enriches the lives of others through their service to the students and institution and is based on our four Franciscan values of Respect, Service, Integrity and Compassion. Wayne truly embodies all the aforementioned qualities,” said Vinciguerra.

“Wayne shows each and every person he greets with the same respect no matter who it is. Daily, he greets students and employees, taking the time to listen to each individual, often providing words of encouragement or a pat on the back. Each person, especially each student, is a valued and respected individual to him,” added Vinciguerra.

Heldebrandt of Joliet has worked at USF for eight years.
