USF Academic Honor Societies

The University of St. Francis honors societies allow you to surround yourself with others who share not only a passion for learning but also a desire to challenge themselves socially, culturally and intellectually. USF honor societies include:

DELTA EPSILON SIGMA is the national scholastic honor society for students, faculty, and alumni of college and universities based on Catholic tradition. Members must have a minimum GPA of 3.4. PHI ALPHA THETA is the international history honor society open to students with 12 or more credit hours completed in history.
DELTA MU DELTA is the national honor society in business administration. A minimum GPA of 3.2 is required. PINNACLE is a national honorary organization for nontraditional students age 25 or older. Membership requirements include a GPA of at least 3.5
EPSLION DELTA PI is the honor society for computer science undergraduate students. The GPA requirement is 3.2 in upper level computer courses and overall 3.0. Also required for membership is 75 credit hours of University course work. PI SIGMA ALPHA is the international political science honor society open to students with 12 or more credit hours completed in history.
KAPPA DELTA PI is an international honor society organized to recognize excellence in education. Kappa Delta Pi elects those to membership who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards and promise in teaching and allied professions. PRESIDENTIAL CORPS is a group of accomplished USF students selected for their demonstrated achievements and qualities in the classroom and in everyday life. The Presidential Corps exists to provide leadership and service for the University community as official student hosts, student ambassadors both at USF and in the greater community, and all around representatives of USF.
KAPPA MU EPSILON is the national honor society for mathematics students. Membership requirements include being in the upper 35 percent of class rank and having a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all mathematics courses. RHO PHI LAMBDA is the national honorary fraternity for recreation, park, and leisure majors. Qualifications required for undergraduate students to be considered are: 45 total credit
hours completed with a cumulative GPA of 3.0; nine or more hours completed in Recreation Administration, with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 in the major; and substantial record of leadership and service to the community and/or school.

PHI ALPHA is the honor society for social work students, and Kappa Rho is the name of the local chapter. The inductees must be declared a social work major; achieved sophomore status; completed eight semester credit hours or 12 quarter hours of required social work courses;achieved an overall grade point average of 3.0; and achieve a 3.25 grade point average in required social work classes.

SIGMA TAU DELTA is the national English honor society. The minimum GPA requirement is 3.25.
PSI CHI membership eligibility is based on a student's academic record and includes the completion of three semesters or five quarters of the college course; completion of nine semester hours or 14 quarter hours of psychology courses; ranking in the top 35% of his or her class in general scholarship; and a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in both psychology classes and in cumulative grades.
