STUDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR HEALTH AND COUNSELING SERVICES

The Health Services Student Advisory Committee has been established for the University of St. Francis through the Health Services Division. The Health Services Division is comprised of the Medical Services Department and the Personal Counseling Services Department.

The Committee was established in order to provide the Medical and Counseling Services Departments with direct input, feedback, and recommendations from the students whom we to serve. The Committee serves to perform the following functions:

  1. Assist in identifying unmet medical and mental health needs within the student community.
  2. Make recommendations to the Health Services Division regarding services that should be expanded, improved, or developed, to better serve the student community.
  3. Assist in communicating the availability of new and existing services to the student community.
  4. Assist in providing medical and mental health assessment and education services to the student community.
  5. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of services provided by the Health Services Division.

Members of this Committee will be chosen from Junior and Senior level students who volunteer to serve, and those referred by University employees to serve two years on this committee.

The Committee is comprised of six students, the fields of nursing, social work, psychology, education, and athletics.

Students who are in their second semester of their sophomore year may volunteer to serve on this committee for the following academic year. Interested students should contact either the school nurse at 740-3864 or the Director of Personal Counseling at 740-3598.
