Our Mission
The mission of Health Services at the University of St. Francis is to encourage the establishment of lifestyle behaviors that promote healthy living patterns, and to provide direct intervention of nursing services when needed. These services will be provided in a manner consistent with the Franciscan values of respect, service, integrity and compassion.
Health Services will be available to all:
- Day, evening, and graduate students of the university.
- Administrators, faculty, and staff of USF
Confidentiality
All services are confidential. Release of confidential information may only be made with the written consent of the client.
Fees
Fees for services are not charged to administrators, faculty, staff and students. When emergency care or hospitalization is required, arrangements will be made to transfer the client to a local hospital at the client’s expense.
Offerings
Educational programs offered during the academic school year include:
- Immunizations (Tetanus Diphtheria and Tuberculosis Testing)
- Alcohol/Drug Awareness Programs
- Blood drives-one per semester
- Great American Smoke-Out
- Health related guest speakers
- Men's Health Related Issues
- Breast/Ovarian Cancer Awareness
- Eating Disorders
- Healthy Eating
- Colon Cancer Awareness
Referrals
When university sponsored health services are not adequate to meet the needs of the client, referrals can be made to appropriate treatment resources. Persons needing health services outside of the university may contact the Health Services for a list of potential providers.
