The University of St. Francis prides itself not only on great academic achievements but also great opportunities for its students to get involved. USF’s writers, music lovers and broadcast journalists help produce The Encounter, WCSF 88.7 FM and the USF TV Club.
Student staff members produce a printed student news magazine called USF Encounter, which is published each month and distributed throughout USF’s three campuses in Joliet. “USF Encounter Online” is a frequently updated website produced by the staff and other USF students.
The USF TV Club provides a team atmosphere for students who wish to enhance their television production skills, gain personal satisfaction and get involved in club activities. The club provides quality programming and service to USF and the greater Joliet community. Student members produce the Exploring Joliet cable TV show, which is focused on Joliet—the city, its people, plans and activities. The show airs on Comcast Cable Channel 6 and ATT channel 99 weekly at 7 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
