Something To Do With Fear is the first exhibition taking place at The Art House, a new space given to the students by the University of St. Francis. The show brings together two recent graduates, Yaniro Paramo and Ryane Wolfe, along with four current seniors in the Visual Arts program—Matt Egizio, Holly Fisher, Richard Mutz, and Joel Voss. The show will feature current works in drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and video.

Yaniro Paramo's often poetic work combines metaphysical questioning with his life experiences growing up as a Mexican in Joliet, a city in the heart of the Midwest. Ryan Wolfe deconstructs advertisements through digital means with his series Neighbors in which he enlarges small images of people found in real estate catalogues to the point of pixelation. Matt Egizio mixes childlike inquisitiveness with an edgy display in an attempt to capture his experience in the surrounding world through his finger paintings, ink drawings, and photography. Holly Fisher's installation consumes the room to comment on the struggle women have to overcome in a male-dominated society. Richard Mutz approaches fear often through video installatons addressing the television's desensitization of society and the overwhelming alienation of the individual. Joel Voss manipulates light, creating glowing installation and sculpture that heightens the viewer's experience of the space.
