Works on paper and canvas by Roxane Legenstein

August 10, 2003 through September 28, 2003

"Outside in Space"
They stand in a space, painted into the space. Without a clear line, without secure viewpoints, without a dicernable direction; they allow for a room in which they are, at the same time, safe, secure and lost - and yet restricted as well.

OUTSIDE IN SPACE the dramaturgy of simultaneity, as constructed by Roxane Legenstein, becomes summonable as the freedom of use, as the signs of the freedom of the observer, to gain meaning through the observant use of figures, symbols, signs - and to discover a new possibility of choice in the increasing in the increasing total number of choices: to recycle, readopt and further develop an additional moment of synchronicity: an additional quotation, by Henri Michau, " signs that would allow one to be open to the world in a different manner, that would create and develop a different function of human beings, in which they are alienated from the alienation."
