Science Fellows Scholarship Program

Science Fellows Scholarship Program

The Science Fellows Scholarship Program provides an enriching environment to selected, highly motivated students majoring in biology or biochemistry. The students will receive a $3,000 stipend each year they are in the program.

Those students who are chosen for the program will build close relationships with science faculty and fellow students as they serve the Natural Science Department during their four years of study. Opportunities for working on research, as lab assistants, and tutors are just some of the possibilities that this program offers. Fellows also work with faculty on research that will lead to a thesis that is presented to faculty and fellow students in their senior year.

Fellows use these scientific activities to complete six to eight hours of service per week as a requirement to maintain the scholarship. In addition, students complete an off-campus internship during one summer, and they must also maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA.

To become a fellow you must have an ACT score of 25 or higher; be in the top 20 percent of your high school graduating class; and have a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher.

Please contact the USF admissions staff if you are interested in applying to this program.
