The University of St. Francis Business Incubator:
Where Great Ideas Are Born

Now accepting applications from startup businesses and entrepreneurs.

Applications are typically reviewed once every spring and fall semester.

 

The Incubator provides:

  • Co-working environment between startups, community members, and entrepreneurial students
  • Events/lecture series promoting educational offerings for startups
  • Professional office location in downtown Joliet (located at 16 W. Van Buren Street in Joliet, Ill., across from the Rialto) for startups to begin/continue business activities

 

What will the startup receive?

*Startups will receive the following services:

  • Desk space at University facilities in downtown Joliet
  • Connection to mentors
  • Access to university resources, faculty, students, interns and more
  • Access to free high-speed wireless internet in the incubator
  • Phone service in the incubator
  • Access to wireless printer/copier (printing/copy rates may apply).
  • Startups retain ownership of their personal property and intellectual rights

Startups will be required to:
1. Submit application
2. Upon acceptance into the incubator, sign an access agreement
3. Provide a criminal background check and insurance
4. Pay a small monthly usage fee (please contact us for details). The first year in the incubator is free, and all services are free to USF students.

Cait's CakesCait’s Cakes
All of Cait’s Cakes’ business mainly comes from word of mouth, allowing the founder, Caitlyn, to fulfill orders of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other sweets for her customers. Caitlyn completed her associate degree in baking and pastry arts from College of DuPage, continuing her education to receive her bachelor’s in entrepreneurship at University of St. Francis. She hopes to gain further work experience to help her open a storefront for Cait’s Cakes.

Acer Report:
A credit reporting bureau that specializes in recording and reporting payment history of alternative credit lines. We empower consumers to ensure their “complete” credit profile is reviewed for credit decisions. We believe alternative credit deserves to be counted.

Don’t Quit:
DontQuit works to connect the student athlete with the world around them, while creating leaders for tomorrow. We produce clothing for the general public & the student athlete to wear with pride while representing their respective school & city.

Student Speakers:
Through our experiences working with minorities, and being minorities ourselves, we have encountered many heartfelt, inspirational, and empowering stories – all from students. We realized that these stories – these students – needed to be heard; the idea for Student Speakers was born.

Incubator Mission: The St. Francis Incubator supports the economic development of the region by fostering new business development; a secondary aim of the incubator provides students from St. Francis and neighboring junior colleges entrepreneurial education in a lab setting.
