62nd Annual Caritas Scholarship Ball: Saturday, Jan. 26

January 4, 2019 | Joliet, Ill.

The University of St. Francis’ 62nd Annual Caritas Scholarship Ball will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at the Renaissance Center, located at 214 N. Ottawa Street in Joliet. The Caritas Scholarship Ball is one of the oldest black-tie events in the area and has been raising scholarship funds for students that attend the university. It has succeeded in raising more than $5 million in assistance since its inception. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

The chairpersons for the event are Tracey (Carmack ’92) and Dan Vogen ’93.

“Caritas has been a great avenue through which we can play our small part in helping the university continue to provide a great learning environment, and make a college education and life changing experiences available to the next generation of students,” said Dan Vogen. “Tracey and I have seen what our education from USF has done for us. There is only one purpose of the Caritas Scholarship Ball, and it is the students.”

Each year, the University of St. Francis provides close to $19 million in institutional funds to aid students. More than 1,200 students at USF receive scholarships and 100% of the incoming freshman class receives some kind of financial assistance.

University of St. Francis President Arvid C. Johnson, Ph.D., and his wife, Anne, will host the event, which will feature a silent and live auction, gourmet cuisine, a premium bar and music by High Society Orchestra.

“We continue to be grateful for the incredible, ongoing generosity of those the University of St. Francis serves – including the Joliet and Will County communities. This support inspires and affirms the important work that is being done by the University, while demonstrating an investment in our students, who are our future leaders,” said Dr. Johnson.

The University of St. Francis would also like to thank this year’s Caritas sponsors: Gold Sponsor – Wintrust Commercial Bank; Silver Sponsors – Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Brown and Anonymous, and Bronze Sponsors – Barnes & Noble Booksellers, First Secure Community Bank of Joliet, Hollywood Casino, Pepsi-Cola, Piazza & Mannerino Masonry, PNC Bank and Rich Foundation.

Reservations are required. Event tickets are $350 per person and seating is limited. To order tickets, please visit stfrancis.edu/caritas.
