St. Francis a Military Advanced Education & Transition “Top University”

Nov. 30, 2017 | Joliet, Ill.

The University of St. Francis (USF) is proud to announce that it has been selected as a “Top School” in the Military Advanced Education & Transition 2018 Guide to Colleges & Universities. This is the fourth year USF has received this distinction from Military Advanced Education & Transition (MAE&T).

The guide measures not only best practices in military and veteran education, but also presents results of a questionnaire focused on the military-supportive policies enacted at more than 600 private, public, for-profit, not-for-profit, four-year and two-year institutions. It is the goal of MAE&T’s guide to provide students with information about institutions like USF that provide exceptional service to veterans and active military personnel.

Institutions were evaluated on their military culture, financial aid, flexibility, general support, on-campus support and online support services.

“USF maintains the highest standards in our programs and assists veterans in both the admission process and applying for their applicable benefits,” says Bruce Foote, Director of Financial Aid and USF Veterans Certifying Official.

Since 2000, 135 veterans have graduated from USF. Another 54 veterans, spouses and dependents are currently enrolled in one of USF’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

The University of St. Francis has established a 15% veterans/military discount program which applies to veterans and active military who have exhausted their VA benefits and includes spouses of active duty military personnel not eligible for VA benefits. This discount is also extended to drilling members of the National Guard/Reserves and active duty military personnel and employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
