Summer Youth Camps at USF in June, July

The University of St. Francis (USF) will host summer youth camps in June and July. For more information on any USF summer camp or to register, visit stfrancis.edu/camps-workshops.

  • A boys’ and girls’ volleyball camp for students in 3rd-8th grade will kick off summer camp season at USF. First session will be held June 12-15, followed by a second session July 10-13. Camp will run from 9 a.m.-noon each day. Cost is $90 per person per session.
  • WCSF 88.7 FM will host a Radio Camp over the course of four days– June 13, 15, 20, 22– from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. Cost is $150 per student, camp is limited to eight participants. In this broadcasting camp for high school-aged students, campers will learn radio broadcasting basics in the new, state-of-the-art WCSF radio studio at the University of St. Francis. Students will learn about career opportunities in radio broadcasting, how a radio station is programmed, broadcast audio production techniques and how to operate radio broadcast Students will also learn how to produce their own radio program, and better yet– they’ll get airtime on WCSF, 88.7 FM!
  • A boys’ and girls’ basketball camp for students age 6-14 will take place June 19-22. Campers age 6-9 will attend from 8:30 a.m.-noon, with an extended one-hour option for this age group only. Campers age 10-14 will attend from 1-4:30 p.m. Cost is $100 per person. The extended one-hour option for 6-9 year-olds is $40 per camper.
  • That same week, a Digital Audio Recording Arts Camp will be hosted June 19-23 from 1-5 p.m. each day. Cost is $199 per student, camp is limited to 12 participants. This camp, held in USF’s state-of-the-art Digital Audio Recording Arts facility, will allow participants to study the architecture of 21st century music production using audio loops, MIDI composition and traditional audio capturing utilizing excellent microphones, tracking room, booths, control room and editing suite. The week will wrap up with completion of a recording project exercising student’s new skills.
  • Finally, in July, the Summer Strings Music Camp will take place July 17-28 from 1-5 p.m. each day. Cost is $299 per camper, with an optional private lesson fee of $50. This music camp is specifically for string players in 8th-12th grades. Students will play in chamber ensembles and an orchestra, hone their musicianship skills in a composition or conducting elective, and study intensively with USF faculty in technique classes, masterclasses, and coaching sessions. For an additional fee, students can sign up for weekly 30-minute private lessons (two total) that will occur before or after regular camp sessions. The two-week camp will culminate in a concert in which all students will perform. Students must have previous playing experience and must provide their own instruments.
