University of St. Francis’ Dominique Annis, director of student engagement & leadership, was recently nominated and chosen for an award by Power Performers during the organization’s “Campus Event Planner Awards.”

Annis and the University of St. Francis were selected from more than 4,200 campuses nationwide during the organization’s “Campus Event Planner Awards.” The awards were created to honor hard-working college activities directors and student event programmers for their efforts, dedication and long hours spent creating memorable campus events.

Annis was recognized for the “Best Overall Event” for her ghost hunter event at Halloween time, which drew more than 100 students.

Said VP of Student and Alumni Affairs, Damon Sloan, “Dominique has worked very hard to forge relationships with the different agencies who send talent to USF. Her constant communication as well as her good standing in the industry has allowed us to pursue big time events without the big time costs. She is a valuable member of the Student & Alumni Affairs team, and we congratulate her on this award.”

When asked about who was invited to the event and what lent to its success, Annis said, “It was just open to our students. They had a good time, but were a little disappointed that they didn’t experience any hauntings!”

The University of St. Francis in Joliet serves 3,400 students nationwide, offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in arts and science, business, education, nursing, health care and social work. For information, call (800) 735-7500 or visit
