Future Educator Summer Academy

The Future Educator Summer Academy will provide high school students a unique opportunity to explore teaching as a profession.

June 12 – 13, 2018
USF Main Campus (Joliet, IL)
$75 per attendee (partner rate available for Joliet Township High School students)
Fee includes five (5) meals, overnight accommodations, and a t-shirt
Academy participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of what a teacher is, what a teacher can expect, and what knowledge and characteristics make an individual an effective teacher.
  • Learn about the requirements for becoming an educator in the state of Illinois.
  • Receive mentoring support from teachers in the field and college students enrolled in teacher preparation programs.
  • Network with other high school students interested in teaching.
  • Participate in team building and social activities.
  • Receive meals and accommodations for the duration of the two-day program.

This application is the initial step in applying to the Future Educator Summer Academy. Once accepted into the program, information regarding payment and additional required forms (such as Parent/Guardian Permission, Health Information, etc.) will be provided via email.

Enrollment in the program will be contingent upon payment and completion of all required forms.
