Multicultural Education Recruitment in Teaching (MERIT)

The Multicultural Education Recruitment in Teaching (MERIT) program is intended to help recruit, prepare, place, and induct a new generation of excellent teachers – a teacher corps that more nearly matches the demographics of the student population.

Get Involved with MERIT

  • Attend the Future Educator Summer Academy, a residential education experience for aspiring teachers. Spend time on the USF campus exploring the teaching profession, participating in team and leadership activities, and learning about the college application process.

  • Participate in USF hosted opportunities for educators. Learn and network with other high school students, USF teacher candidates, and practicing professionals. Timely topics and prominent guest speakers increase cultural awareness and boost skills for working with student groups and colleagues.

  • Apply for scholarships and other awards for future educators attending the University of St. Francis.
