The University of St. Francis (USF) welcomes Dr. Debra Rowe for a special Green Month presentation on sustainability – “Create Your Life: Actions for a Sustainable Future” – on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 7 p.m. in San Damiano Hall (Donovan Hall). This is a free event that is open to members of the USF community and the general public. RSVPs are required.

Dr. Debra Rowe is a well-known, national and international leader in education and action for sustainability. She is President of the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development. She convenes leaders within business, education, government, faith and youth sectors, and catalyzes regional and national sustainability initiatives. Rowe has taught Campus Sustainability and Corporate Sustainability for the University of Vermont for many years. She has also been a professor of psychology, energy management, renewable energies and sustainable communities for over 35 years at Oakland Community College, and is the recipient of numerous awards, including an international education award at MIT.
Dr. Rowe is also co-founder of the Higher Education Associations Sustainability Consortium, founder/facilitator of the Disciplinary Associations’ Network for Sustainability and Senior Advisor to the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. She was staff consultant for a U.S. Department of Education funded project entitled “Sustainability Improves Student Learning,” working with thirteen STEM academic societies, and, in addition, ran the Technical Advisory Group for the Sustainability Education and Economic Development Resource Center.
