USF unveils new online privacy policy

USF has published a new online privacy policy in anticipation for new international rules governing data privacy and security. The new policy incorporates the university’s desire to protect the privacy of current students and staff as well as potential students or people seeking information about the university. privacy policy university of st. francis

“We’re reaching out to USF staff, faculty, and students to let you know about changes to USF’s Online Privacy Policy. These changes will make it easier to understand how we collect and use data (and will also allow us to comply with the European Union’s new General Data Protection Regulation),” the university stated in a campus-wide email. 

The core of the policy states that the university will not sell any staff or information system user’s personal information.

The updated policy provides details on:

  • The information USF collects
  • How USF uses and stores online data
  • And how information be updated, corrected, or deleted

“We know your personal data is important to you and protecting and handling your data in a transparent way is something everyone at USF takes seriously,” the university emailed to all current staff and students.
