Work in the Talent Development Field

Our ACBSP-accredited Master of Science in Talent Development is a 10-course, 30 credit hour, affordable, online program. It is designed for practitioners who are currently or would like to work in the fields of talent development, training, learning and development, human resources, employee relations, adult learning, instructional design, higher education administration, community education, corporate training, consulting, instructional design, and more. Students will find both personal and professional growth in the study of talent development. 

In this program, students have the opportunity to complete assignments they can apply to their organization, institution, or place of employment. They will gain hands-on experience with effective ways of building organizational capability practices including the design, delivery, management, assessment of talent development initiatives uniquely suited to adults. Our graduates are working for companies in healthcare, non-profits, education, corporations, public entities, the military, and more. 

You can transfer up to six credit hours if you’ve started your studies at another school. We also accept prior learning credit for individuals who have received the CPLP Certification through the Association for Talent Development (ATD), formerly ASTD. You also have the option to start with lower cost graduate certificates (from $399/credit hour) that can lead to a USF degree later, or pursue a bridge program or dual degree opportunity to double the impact of your learning.

Program Overview

Classes run in eight-week cycles, meaning you can enroll at six different times during the year. A key component of this degree is coursework focused on real world experience, led by faculty with impressive academic credentials who are experts in the field. Students will immediately engage in work that applies to their workplace or a specific industry certificate or credential. USF’s classes feature adult-learning activities such as case study exercises, directed discussions, and presentations.
