International Student Admission Requirements: Undergraduate

International Undergraduate Freshman 

  1. Application
    • Complete and submit an online application. There is no application fee for online summations.
    • An essay and recommendation letters are strongly encouraged, but not required, for all programs
  2. Transcripts
    • If High School is located in the United States, an Official Transcript from the US High School or,
    • If Secondary School is located outside the United States, a professional credential evaluation is needed by an outside credential evaluation service.
  3. Provide proof of English proficiency
  4. SAT or ACT scores
    • Required for applicants wishing to be considered for more academic scholarships.

International Undergraduate Transfer

  1. Application
    • Complete and submit an online application. There is no application fee for online summations.
  2. Transcripts
    • If Post Secondary School(s) is/are located in the United States, an Official Transcript from each of the US Schools or,
    • If Post Secondary School(s) is/are located outside the United States, a professional credential evaluation is needed by an outside credential evaluation service.

For students that meet our minimum academic and language proficiency requirements.

Conditional Admission

Freshman and Transfer applicants who are academically admissible, but have not demonstrated satisfactory English proficiency or do not submitting tests scores, may be conditionally admitted through ELAP program. Upon successful completion of the full-time non-credit Intensive English program (IEP), students will continue at the university and begin taking credit classes leading to a degree program. Questions concerning specific information, university programs and admission procedures should be directed to the Office of Admission.

Next Steps: I-20

After we have received all of your required documents, our International Admissions office will review all documents for acceptance. If all requirements are met, USF will issue a Letter of Acceptance, and you can then prepare your documents to receive your I-20.
