Within the College of Business, the School of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), the leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating and rewarding teaching excellence. "3 to Degree" & Program Types

Convenience and Cost Savings with Our “3 to Degree” Program

The “3 to Degree program” allows current undergraduate students to seamlessly complete a BBA/B.S. degree and an MBA or M.S. degree in five years. This program is designed for students to take up to nine graduate credit hours that count towards both their undergraduate and graduate degrees, saving approximately $7,500 in tuition costs. USF Business Students Excel

It’s a David vs. Goliath story for our students measuring up against the world’s best and brightest. Each semester, USF business students compete in a capstone “business simulation” modeling course and consistently perform well against institutions from across the country. USF students have successfully competed against teams from business programs like Notre Dame, Indiana University, DePaul, Duke, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, BYU, Pepperdine, Michigan State and several international schools in India and Dubai.

Bio
Amanda Amiti, DNP, MSN, NP-C, PMHNP-BC is a dually-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She is the director of Nurse Practitioner programs at USF in addition to teaching full-time. She graduated from USF in 2020 with a post-master’s PMHNP certificate and in 2025 with a DNP. She has been a faculty member since January 2023 and has enjoyed sparking her passion for mental health in her students’ hearts.

Dr. Amiti  is married with three children. She also practice as a PMHNP in Utica, Illinois. She enjoys spending time with her family, shopping and trying out restaurants in the community.

Bio

Kevin “Duffy” Blackburn is a teaching instructor in the College of Business & Health Administration at the University of St. Francis. He brings over 20 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and public service, with a focus on connecting students to real-world applications and professional development.
 
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Iowa and two master’s degrees in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School. He has also completed executive education at Harvard, Notre Dame, and MIT. Kevin is a licensed CPA, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
 
In addition to teaching, Kevin has been appointed to several Illinois state boards and commissions and actively serves on nonprofit boards supporting seniors, children, and multicultural communities. He enjoys mentoring students and spending time with his family.

She also works with community organizations on projects involving research, needs assessment, strategic business planning, and electronic learning. Her career includes experience in corporate and higher education roles in training, sales, operations, and administration. Bonnie holds a bachelor’s degree in English, a masters of business administration (MBA), a masters in training and development, and an EdD in interdisciplinary leadership with a concentration in higher education. She is a past-president of the Illinois Council on Continuing Higher Education (ICCHE), a past chair for the Association for Continuing Higher Education (ACHE) Great Lakes Region, and a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Joseph currently serves as an Assistant Professor in marketing, academic advisor for graduate business administration students (A-L), academic advisor for undergraduate adult degree completion students, and Faculty Advisor for Delta Mu Delta (national honor society in business administration) – Delta Kappa Chapter, in the College of Business & Health Administration at the University of St. Francis.

Joseph also works with community not-for-profit organizations on projects involving research in the areas of website form, function and utilization, marketing communications, communications and social media use and planning, volunteerism and fundraising, as well as client surveys to promote organizational performance improvement changes and long-term strategic planning initiatives.

Joseph’s career experience includes higher education faculty, as well as business senior corporate leadership roles in customer service, inbound and outbound telemarketing sales, training, training program development, program assessment, skills training, technology training, operations, support, as well as process improvement consulting for-profit business and non-profit member-driven associations in the areas of training, sales, service, new customer acquisition data entry processing, back-end office processing, marketing fulfillment processing, as well as bank regulatory compliance in the areas of anti-money laundering, bank secrecy act, home mortgage disclosure act, to name a key few.

Joseph is a first-generation student and holds multiple degrees; an associate in liberal arts (AA), bachelor of business administration (BBA), a masters of business administration (MBA), a master of science in training and development (MSTD), and a (Ph.D.) in educational leadership for the advancement of learning and service.

Joseph is the past member and programs chair for the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) – Valley of the Sun chapter, past board member and programs chair for the Northwest Indiana Society for Human Resource Management (NWI-SHRM), and current member of the Society of Human Resource management (SHRM) and American Marketing Association (AMA).

In his spare time Joseph enjoys travel, reading, outdoor activities in any season, and volunteering for various community organizations.

Bio

Dr. Morrissette teaches Finance and Strategy at University of St. Francis as well as Merger & Acquisition Strategy at University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  His expertise and research areas include: Strategic Planning, Entrepreneurial Finance, Exit Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Merger Integration.  He has numerous publications including “A Framework for Validating an M&A Deal Investment Thesis” in the Journal of Accountancy and Finance.  As Managing Director of Providence Advisors, he has extensive consulting experience in strategic planning and M&A.  He works extensively with large private, family-owned businesses. He raised over $100 million in equity as the founding CEO of a new bank group headquartered in Illinois.  His M&A experience ranges from private company deals with values of $25-500 million and integration roles on billion-dollar transactions.  He serves on several corporate and non-profit boards.  He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Finance.

Bio

Dr. Sydney Sklar, Professor of Recreation Therapy, chairs the Recreation and Sport Management Department and coordinates the Recreation Therapy program. He also manages the USF Challenge Center, an experiential team building and leadership development program.

Prior to teaching at USF, he served as a therapeutic recreation practitioner at Fox Valley Special Recreation Association in Aurora, IL and Shands at Vista Mental Health Center in Gainesville, FL. He came to USF in 2005 from the University of Florida where he completed his Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance with a specialization in Therapeutic Recreation.

Sklar’s research includes outdoor adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation education, youth development, adventure learning, and community development. In a current research project, he works with an outdoor adventure adaptive sports program in Colorado to assess functional outcomes of the program among participants with disabilities.

He has published three chapters in therapeutic recreation textbooks and articles in journals such as the Therapeutic Recreation Journal, Annual in Therapeutic Recreation, and the World Leisure Journal. His career has included service to state and national association boards, and he has presented at local, state, regional, national and international conferences. He currently chairs the Council on Accreditation of Recreation, Parks, Tourism and Related Professions, an organization that ensures accountability and quality among baccalaureate higher education programs in leisure studies.

Bio

I joined the University of St. Francis faculty in 2007. I have been teaching at the university level online and on-ground since 2003. My Ph.D. is in Business Administration with specializations in Management and Healthcare Administration.  Prior to coming to St. Francis, I spent a year at another university in Michigan.  I have worked in HealthCare since 1987.  I am originally from eastern Kentucky but have lived Chicagoland area since 2000.

My areas of research interest are in the areas of quality of life and economic evaluation models.  I also research areas of executive skill and abilities and have published several papers and presented them at conferences in the United States and in the UK. I created and implemented the Bachelor of Business Administration-Health Care Management Major in 2013.
