The University of St. Francis seeks to comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances prohibiting discrimination in private post-secondary education institutions.
The University of St. Francis (USF) does not discriminate against any employee, applicant for employment, student, or applicant for admission on the basis of actual or perceived:
Our Policy on Equal Opportunity, Harassment, and Nondiscrimination covers nondiscrimination in both employment and access to educational opportunities. Therefore, any member of the USF community whose acts deny, deprive, unreasonably interfere with or limit the education or employment, residential and/or social access, benefits, and/or opportunities of any member of the USF community, guest, or visitor on the basis of that person’s actual or perceived protected characteristic(s), is in violation of that Policy.
USF will promptly and effectively address any such discrimination of which it has Knowledge/Notice using the resolution process in the Equal Opportunity, Harassment, and Nondiscrimination Policy.
The University of St. Francis is committed to creating and maintaining a community in which students, faculty, and staff can work together in an atmosphere free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. Specifically, every member of the University community should be aware that St. Francis is strongly opposed to sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment, and that such behavior is prohibited by university policy. It is the intention of the university to take whatever action may be necessary to stop, prevent, correct, and, if necessary, discipline behavior which violates this policy.
As a recipient of federal financial assistance for education activities, the University of St. Francis is required by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) to ensure that all of its education programs and employment activities do not discriminate on the basis of sex. Sex includes sex assigned at birth, sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy or related conditions. Sex discrimination is prohibited under Title IX and by The University Policy, and it includes sex-based harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, quid pro quo harassment, hostile environment harassment, disparate treatment, and disparate impact.
The Office of Institutional Diversity, in partnership with the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Accessibility Services, is charged with monitoring the university’s compliance with federal, state and institutional polices that promote a nondiscriminatory and harassment-free environment. The Director of Institutional Diversity is the designated Title IX Coordinator.
The Title IX Coordinator, supported by the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and the Title IX Core Team, has the overall responsibility for the implementation of the Title IX program at the University of St. Francis. The Title IX Coordinator oversees the administration of grievance procedures for students, faculty, and staff and develops training, education and communication of all university discrimination and harassment policies.
Any sex-based violations should be reported using the links above or contact the staff below. Note that alleged sex-based violations occurring on or after August 1, 2024, are addressed according to the 2024 Title IX Regulations, while those occurring before August 1, 2024, are addressed by the 2020 Title IX Regulations.
