Subsequent Teaching Endorsements

As a practicing educator, how can I earn another grade level or content area endorsement to meet my career goals?

The College of Education at the University of St. Francis offers individuals who hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License the opportunity to obtain a subsequent endorsement as a non-degree seeking student. A minimum of nine (9) semester hours must be completed at USF, which may include field experience.

ISBE has made significant changes to subsequent endorsement requirements effective December 5, 2019. Educators may now apply directly to ISBE (via ELIS) for all areas except Gifted Specialist, LBS I (K-Age 21), Principal, Reading Specialist, Superintendent, and Teacher Leader (all of which require completion of an approved program).

The following subsequent endorsements are currently available at USF via focused program:

Candidates may also inquire about available courses to meet requirements for other endorsement areas by completing the form below.
