Getting Started: Taking Courses through REAL

The information included on this page is for courses with the prefix EEND, REAL, RECT, or REND offered through the Regional Educational Academy of Leadership (REAL) in the College of Education. Taking Courses as a Special Graduate Student

Candidates interested in taking courses with the prefix EEND, REAL, RECT, or REND do not need to complete a university application for admission. The courses are offered in a stand-alone format and a brief registration/application will be required for each course in which you wish to enroll in a given semester.
 

Tuition for courses with the prefix EEND, REAL, RECT, or REND
  • $280* per credit hour unless otherwise noted. Books and required course materials are not included in the price of tuition.
  • Full payment of course tuition is required during the registration process (effective 10/22/18). Payment may be made via credit card (processing fee applies) or electronic check through our secure registration site.
  • Student accounts may reflect a credit balance until semester tuition bills are posted (mid December for Spring, mid May for Summer, and late July for Fall)
  • Courses are not eligible for federal financial assistance. Federal financial assistance like the Federal Direct Loan program can only be received for degree-seeking programs.

After Registration: Preparing for Your Course

 
1. Verify (or gain) access to your MyUSF student account
Please note that if may take 3-5 business days for a MyUSF student account to be created. Candidates who have not previously taken courses at the university will receive a notification via the email provided with their registration. Occasionally the notification email may be moved to spam/junk due to school or personal security settings.

If you did not receive your password OR no longer have your login credentials, there is a Forgot your password? link under the blue login button with information for requesting a password reset. If the reset attempt is unsuccessful, please contact USF Technical Support at techsupport@stfrancis.edu or 815-768-8324.

2. Review your current semester schedule
Courses will be listed in your MyUSF student account under My Student Class Schedule at the top of the page. Please check to make sure that course titles and dates are reflected accurately.

3. Purchase or rent textbooks required for your course
You can find required materials in your MyUSF student account under For Students, Order Your Books OR at USF Barnes and Noble Bookstore online.

4. Consider exploring tutorials for MyUSF and Canvas
Visit Learn It Now for options for students.

5. Be sure to access your online or blended course on the first day of class
Candidates who do not access the online course environment within the first 72 hours may be dropped from the course. If for any reason you will be delayed in joining the course, please notify your instructor in advance.
