REAL at USF: Getting Started

Policy changes affecting individuals enrolling in courses with prefix EEND, REAL, RECT, or REND.

  • Drop requests must be submitted by 4 p.m. on the fifth business day (M-F) of the course to receive a refund of tuition paid/owed for the course. Accelerated format courses (running for less than 8 weeks) must be dropped on or before the first day of class.
  • Effective with Spring Semester 2019 registration, full payment of course tuition will be required during the registration process for all courses with a prefix of EEND, REAL, RECT and REND.

1. Verify (or gain) access to your MyUSF student account
Please note that if may take 3-5 business days for a MyUSF student account to be created. Candidates who have not previously taken courses at the university will receive a notification via the email provided with their registration. Occasionally the notification email may be moved to spam/junk due to school or personal security settings.

If you did not receive your password OR no longer have your login credentials, there is an I need help! link under the blue login button with information for requesting a password reset. If the reset attempt is unsuccessful, please contact USF Technical Support at or 815-768-8324.

2. Review your current semester schedule
Courses will be listed in your MyUSF student account under My Student Class Schedule at the top of the page. Please check to make sure that course titles and dates are reflected accurately.

3. Purchase or rent textbooks required for your course
You can find required materials in your MyUSF student account under For Students, Order Your Books OR at USF Barnes and Noble Bookstore online.

4. Review your tuition bill/account summary for accuracy, due dates, and balance due
Tuition is due for all REAL, REND, EEND and RECT classes on the start date of the class. Accounts that are not paid in full or enrolled in a payment plan by the second published due date of each semester will be assessed a $120 late payment fee.

Fall 2018 courses starting August 20: second due date is 9/15/18
Fall 2018 courses starting October 8: second due date is 11/15/18

Access your tuition/billing information through your MyUSF student account under For Students, Tuition Bill/Account Summary. Additional information regarding the billing process for candidates taking courses through REAL can be found in the Billing Process Memorandum. Please note that billing/tuition notifications are sent electronically to USF email accounts which may be accessed through your MyUSF student account by choosing WebMail located in the top left corner.

5. Consider exploring tutorials for MyUSF and Canvas

6. Be sure to access your online or blended course on the first day of class
Candidates who do not access the online course environment within the first 72 hours may be dropped from the course. If for any reason you will be delayed in joining the course, please notify your instructor in advance.
