Virtual Alumni Service Day: June 13, 2020

While we can’t be together in person during this year’s Alumni Service Day, we can be in spirit and on social media! Alumni have several service opportunities that can be done from the comfort of home. Share your stories with us by posting on social media with #StFrancisServes and by tagging us!

Don’t forget to track your service hours to help USF reach its goal of 100,000 service hours for the centennial year!

How to Give Back

Serve

  • Help neighbors in need by mowing their lawn or running an errand for them.
  • Walk through your neighborhood and pick up trash.
  • Go through your closet and pantry to donate items to your local community outreach center.

Create

  • Record yourself teaching your talent (cooking, crafting, etc.) and email the video to alumni@stfrancis.edu to be shared on social media.
  • Encourage neighbors with a brown and gold window display or by creating a chalk display on your sidewalk.
  • Color Bernie Thank You coloring sheets and send it to your local heroes (health care providers, mail carriers, etc.) or post it on social media.
  • Create cards and letters for your local heroes to send along, too!

Reminisce

  • Help fill in details you may recall for the attached images – names of any folks present, event info, day (exact or estimated). Any information you have is extremely helpful!
  • Go through your USF memory box and label, scan, and send your photos via Alumni Memories to be included in the USF archives.
  • Donate to the Student Emergency Fund. This fund is used for students in crisis, such as student rent needs, food, etc. These emergency needs are more frequent and dire during the COVID-19 crisis.
  • Donate towards student scholarships. The USF Centennial Campaign has a goal to reach $1 million in student scholarships. Every gift matters! Learn more and donate at the Centennial Campaign.
  • You can also use social media to host a virtual fundraiser. Use your talents to entertain folks for a power hour and lead them to the Centennial Campaign or Ways to Give to donate towards the student scholarship.

  • Apply to be a mentor in the Student Alumni Mentoring program this fall!
